Written by Byron Tidwell and the late (dearly missed) Lincoln Hudson and starring David Shaughnessy (of Labyrinth fame), “Ronnie Brixton – The Best of British Boxing” provides an intimate exposé of the macho world of British Boxing. A contrasting and provocative look at the intersection of gender, sports, and identity, the play, performed at The Space LV, is at once hilarious, touching, and deeply moving.
Triad Stage, Greensboro, will present Preston Lane’s The Passion of Teresa Rae King. This World Premiere is loosely inspired by Émile Zola’s novel Thérèse Paquin. A young woman beleaguered by her husband and terrorized by her mother-in-law finds comfort in the arms of another man.
Melbourne French Theatre present Le Père Noel Est Une Ordure, a brilliant black comedy, juggling high farce and grotesque black humour. The play, performed in French with English subtitles, is a wild, aggressive, furiously paced and absolutely hilarious beast, dealing with loneliness, heart-ache, and people on the edge of insanity.
