Igniting connections across the globe.

Arts Around the World: December 25-31, 2017

By Claire Hammond

We’ve reached the end of the year! Here are a few final ways to get your fill of the arts with live entertainment and theatre events through the end of 2017.

December 25-31, 2017

Dream Lover, Melbourne, Australia, from December 27

The musical Dream Lover reveals the extraordinary story of legendary singer, songwriter and actor, Bobby Darin. Starring David Campbell and Hannah Fredericksen as Sandra Dee, the show presents great hits from the 50s and 60s including ‘Mack The Knife’, ‘Beyond the Sea’ and the multi-million-seller ‘Dream Lover’. This musical, at the State Theatre, captures the glamour and passion of the big band era, the Rat Pack in Vegas and the Golden Age of Hollywood – a time of trail-blazing stars, knock-out fashions and life-changing events.

The Rocky Horror Show, Adelaide, Australia, from December 28

The Rocky Horror Show will re-open the Festival Theatre at the Adelaide Festival Centre. Get ready for a night of fun, frolics and frivolity in this thrilling production of Richard O’Brien’s classic original script! Follow squeaky-clean sweethearts Brad and Janet on an adventure they’ll never forget, starring award winner Craig McLachlan as the scandalous Frank N Furter. Bursting at the seams with the timeless classics including ‘Sweet Transvestite’, ‘Damn it Janet’, and of course, the pelvic-thrusting ‘Time Warp’, Richard O’Brien’s Rocky Horror Show is a non-stop party!

Hogmanay Festival, Edinburgh, UK, December 30 – January 1

Hogmanay is the Scottish word for the last day of the year, and has become synonymous with New Year’s celebrations. The three day festival in Edinburgh attracts visitors from around the world, and is a street party, a concert, a torchlight procession… and so much more!

Wishing everyone a very happy and safe New Year and for those involved with New Year’s Eve events, Break A Leg!
