Igniting connections across the globe.

By Claire Hammond

It is an exciting week in live entertainment and theatre this week! Here are few suggestions for fabulous performances and events to see this week in Japan, the United Kingdom, and South Africa.

February 5 – 11, 2018

Company, Aberdeen, Scotland, until February 10

It’s Bobby’s 35th birthday party and his married friends are all asking the same question – will he ever give up his bachelor lifestyle and settle down? From Stephen Sondheim, the legendary composer of Sweeney Todd and Into the Woods, comes a ground breaking dark comedy about life, love and marriage. The award-winning team behind Aberdeen Arts Centre’s highly acclaimed production of Cabaret, return with a party you won’t want to miss.

Kurious by Cirque du Soleil, Tokyo, Japan, from February 7

Cirque du Soleil is back in Japan! Don’t miss the highly anticipated show Kurios, running at the Odaiba Big Top. Step into the curio cabinet of an ambitious inventor who defies the laws of time, space and dimension in order to reinvent everything around him. Suddenly, the visible becomes invisible, perspectives are transformed, and the world is literally turned upside down.

International Public Art Festival, Cape Town, South Africa, February 10 – 19

For the second edition of the festival, the message is a strong one which hits a deep consciousness about the mishandling of nature. This unique event gives both local and international artists the opportunity to showcase their stories, skills and styles in real time and on a global platform. IPAF’s main aim is to create awareness of public art, bridge the gap between fine art and street art and use it as a medium to educate, uplift and inspire the public.
