In this special episode on “Speak like Shakespeare Day” we are joined by Maria McNair, discussing artistic canons and all things Shakespeare. Maria holds a PhD in English Literature from Harvard University, where she has also created an online course on Shakespeare. Working within education as both a teacher and a writer, Maria also writes and produces the Ministry of Ideas Podcast. Additionally, Maria is the creator and producer of the online course “Shakespeare For All”, which aims to make the bard’s life and work more accessible.

In this episode we are joined by Franz Harary talking all things magic. Franz is both a performer and illusion designer, and is known for his arena shows. He pioneered bringing magic to the world of live concert productions, first for Michael Jackson, and later for artists wanting to reproduce impressive visual effects in their live shows. Franz’s work has featured on Broadway, in feature films and television, and in numerous theme parks worldwide. Harary has his own TV series ‘Magic Planet’ and his own live show ‘The House of Magic by Franz Haray’ in Macau, and is currently constructing two marine parks in China. Franz gives us his insight into the world of magic and tells us about his fascinating career.
