The Beatles Release New Animated Music Video

The Beatles Release New Animated Music Video TheatreArtLife

The Beatles have released a new animated music video for the song Taxman. The single from the iconic 1966 album Revolver, has been reissued for a brand-new Special Edition of the record that is due for release on 28th October.

Taxman and the Revolver reissue

The exciting news that Revolver would be reimagined, was announced this summer. Since then, audiences have been teased with several demo tracks of Taxman, and the iconic Tomorrow Never Knows.

The new video of Taxman has been directed by Danny Sangra, complementing the new “de-mixing” AI technology, which has been used to isolate and reassemble the recordings since the Get Back documentary by Peter Jackson pioneered mainstream usage of the technique, undoubtedly taking the music through a second round of innovation.

The Beatles animations

The multitalented Danny Sangra makes films and commercials, he draws, paints and designs, as well as working in creative photography and writing. He is the artist responsible for the series of animations for The Beatles this past year. Danny announced the creations as:

“A year of animated Beatles birthday messages from George Harrison to Paul, Ringo and John

What started out as a birthday message made for George Harrison turned into a year of commissioned birthday messages from George to the boys.

The above film is a selection of some of my favourite parts. Below you can see each message individually.

Big thanks to Olivia and Dhani Harrison
And the Beatles for allowing the music”

Band on the run

After a steady stream of gigs, releases, and videos this last year, neither Sir Paul McCartney nor Ringo Starr show any signs of slowing down or shying away from creative work anytime soon. Following McCartney headlining Glastonbury 2022, and even releasing a ‘cosmic kids yoga adventure’, it’s been a busy time for the remaining Beatles.  Following a string of epic dates, it was recently announced that sadly Starr had to cancel the remainder of his 2022 tour due to Covid. However, we strongly suspect that the drummer will be back on the move again very soon post-recovery.
